What Is LiveGrid Plus?

The LiveGrid Plus download contains an enhanced version of the entire Rico library as well as a copy of prototype.js. As its name implies, LiveGrid Plus is focused on enhancing the LiveGrid portion of the Rico library, although there are a few enhancements to other areas as well. This document provides details on how to implement the LiveGrid Plus library. Because there are substantial differences between LiveGrid Plus and the original Rico library, this document should not be used as a reference for the original Rico library.

LiveGrid Plus provides these additional capabilities (versus LiveGrid in Rico 1.1.2):

• Horizontal scrolling
• Columns on the left side of the grid can be frozen
• Headings may contain multiple rows
• Resizable columns
• Column hiding and restoring
• User-initiated sorting & filtering
• Row striping
• Row highlighting
• Pop-up menus
• Multi-language support
• Date and number formatting
• Improved communication with the data provider
• Data providers for both PHP and ASP are included
• Grid data can either be supplied as the page loads or dynamically via AJAX
• Better browser support
• Lots of examples are provided
